The compassionate employees at Penrose, St. Francis and St. Francis – Interquest Hospitals are committed to building a healthier future for all. These three hospitals represent a rich, 130-year legacy of care in Colorado Springs and through our mission, we are compelled to advance social justice and make the healing presence of God known.
Penrose Hospital: Located in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs and established in 1890, this 300-licensed bed acute care facility continues to serve as a flagship hospital, offering the highest quality of care delivered with kindness and compassion.
St. Francis Hospital: Founded in 1887, this 317-licensed bed facility is the only full-service hospital in northern Colorado Springs. Amenities include: a modern Birth Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Level III Trauma Center, Imaging Services, Surgical Services and Critical Care Unit.
St. Francis Hospital – Interquest: Known as our city’s “hospital of the future,” St. Francis – Interquest opened in the summer of 2023. The hospital features innovative technology including smart patient rooms, whole-hospital telehealth, and real-time locating capabilities for equipment, patients and care team.
Penrose and St. Francis hospitals are Magnet designated hospitals. This designation is awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). In addition, both hospitals received “Straight A” recognition from Leapfrog in the spring of 2023 for consistently demonstrating a commitment to putting their patients first. To be named a “Straight A” hospital, facilities must receive five or more “A” ratings in a row.
